چکیده

This paper presents a concept evaluation for a passive ball handling device for autonomous robots that enables the robot to ”feel” the ball. A combination of a capacitive and a pressure sensor delivers accurate information of the ball position and movement within the ball handling deviceeven without touching it. Inspired by the human reflex the sensor values are evaluated to implement a low-level based control loop. This should enable the robot to make minor movement corrections to the overall path calculated by the high-level control system.

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...

Ball Dribbling Control for RoboCup Soccer Robot

RoboCup is a platform designed to promote the research related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics. We also organize a RoboCup soccer team “Hibikino-Musashi” and working on co-operated behavior control system using multiple autonomous mobile robots. In order to realize co-operated behavior in the soccer game, the ball handling system is one of the important issues for dribbling and pas...

Robot Soccer with Local Vision

We designed a family of completely autonomous mobile robots with local intelligence. We developed our own controllers with a variety of digital/ analog I/O facilities and our own operating system RoBIOS, which allows maximum flexibility. Our robots have a number of on-board sensors, including vision, and do not rely on global sensor systems. The on-board computing power is sufficient to analyse...

Motion detection by a moving observer using Kalman filter and neural network in soccer robot

In many autonomous mobile applications, robots must be capable of analyzing motion of moving objects in their environment. Duringmovement of robot the quality of images is affected by quakes of camera which cause high errors in image processing outputs. In thispaper, we propose a novel method to effectively overcome this problem using Neural Networks and Kalman Filtering theory. Thistechnique u...

Effective Ball Handling and Control in Robot Soccer

An autonomous soccer-playing robot was designed and constructed as part of the electrical engineering senior project at Brigham Young University. Unique physical features enable ball handling abilities. A front-side rotating drum retains the ball by applying backspin. A pneumatic kicker allows for fast accurate kicks. Robot movement control is performed by three different systems. The low-level...
